The Real Deal (but not the real Kara Deal)

Here is the real invite! What do you think? His birthday cake is gonna be a Jones soda bottle cap, which will be the traditional silver and black. The caps on top usually have "Jones soda co." But it will instead read "Jones first birthday". There will be the big Silver J and the bottom will still say (Sticking with the true bottle cap) "I've got a jones for a Jones". If you don't know what they look like then just go to a groc store and check one out.

thank you tara.

I was going to say that you are pretty creative, but a bottle cap cake is no birthday breastcake. nothing is, really. But Tara has said it all.

I got the invite in the mail today...so cute. I showed it to capital P and she got that look in her eye...you know the one. The one that says, "They named their baby WHAT?!". Haha. I love it. It's as rewarding as getting flipped off on the freeway. So I say Thank You Jess and Ryan Woods. Thank you for choosing a weird name for your baby, because I like to see how uncomfortable people get when they don't think it's the fabulous name that it is.

UGH. I just remembered that I will be out of town then. I am driving Ms Daisy (my grandpa) up to my parent's house that afternoon.

Sorry Jones. I still think you are the meatiest meatball out there. And I will still buy you a present, because that's what birthdays are all about.

I want to be at Jonsies first birthday... Tell him about me, okay? Tell him about all the the great things I've bought for him and all the poems I've written for him. Remind him that I'm his favorite and oldest aunt and I have playmates for him when he comes to visit me.:) I love you, Jonsie!

My mom always made "shape" cakes for us. They were so cute, and I always felt special that she picked things and made them just for me.

But did she make you boob cakes? No? Well, that's because she didn't really love you.

what's a groc store?

i am actually drinking a jones right now!

that's probably the best birthday idea ever! in fact, i would NAME my kid jones just so i could have a jones soda party . . . coolest parents ever.

sorry i haven't been keeping up on blogs . . . otherwise i might have made it to the party . . .

also, you could totally get a case of jones soda personalized (maybe not in time for this birthday since it is over, but for next birthday or something) with his face on the label!
